Tatnell starts another successful Tassie adventure.

Last Saturday night Aussie Champ Brooke Tatnell in his Toyota Genuine Parts Cool sprintcar finished in a solid third position in the World Series Sprintcar round held at the Hobart International Speedway.

In the first of two Tasmanian WSS rounds, Brooke went into last Saturday night’s meeting holding the series points lead and after finding the new motor was proving difficult to set up the Krikke Motorsports team had switched back to their older Maxwell engine for the Hobart International Speedway round.

In a quality 25 car field, the Australia One Cool had the wrong set of gears fitted for qualifying, leaving Brooke back in seventh with a 12.023 second lap in early time trails.

After the crew had replaced the gears, Brooke was simply running hot “back in the game” forging forward in both his heat races picking up two brilliant race wins. Brooke continued on and completely dominated his Dash race scoring his third victory of the night.

Sharing the front row with current WSS Champ Max Dumesny, Brooke and Max entered turn one side by side and with Brooke not wanting to force the issue and crowd Max into the corner, backed off settling into second. Brooke was confident and looked to be faster in traffic as the pair staged a thrilling and absorbing battle for the round victory. With Robbie Farr running just behind in third, traffic proved to be deciding factor of the race. While Brooke couldn’t pull a move on Max, Farr seized the opportunity in traffic and moving by both leaving Brooke to pick up a still superb third place at the end of the feature race.

“Well, I’m happy it was a good third placing. Like all racers I wanted to take out the win but I’m still happy with the result.”

Brooke Tatnell in the Toyota Genuine Parts Maxwell Engines Cool goes into next Saturday night’s second Tasmanian WSS round still leading the tournaments tally with 1000 points.
