Brooke Tatnell and Krikke MotorSport Looking for Second WWSS Speedweek Crown

Brooke Tatnell and the Krikke MotorSport Team will be looking for their second Wanless World Series Sprintcars Speedweek crown this week, hoping to back up their 2005/2006 Season Speedweek victory.

Regular Krikke MotorSport driver Brooke Tatnell missed last year’s Speedweek, so former Krikke MotorSport driver Robbie Farr was called in to fill Tatnell’s seat and finished a solid fourth overall.

Adelaide’s Speedway City will host Round 1 of Speedweek on Wednesday 26 December 2007.  At this event last year, the KMS Toyota Genuine Parts/Cool/Maxwill was only a matter of laps away from taking the round win, before an incident with Max Dumesny saw the end of his race.  However, the KMS Team will be confident going into this round, as Tatnell took the win there on 17 November 2007 at Wanless World Series Sprintcars Round 4.

Round 2 of Speedweek will take place the following day at Murray Bridge Speedway on Thursday 27 December 2007.  KMS finished second at this round last year, whereas Tatnell has not visited the Murray Bridge track since Speedweek in December 2005, where he finished third.  He will no doubt be eager to return to the track which has special memories, being the site of his first Australian Sprintcar Title in February 2005.

A slight change to the traditional Speedweek schedule will see a day off before Borderline Speedway in Mt Gambier hosts Round 3 on Saturday 29 December 2007.  KMS took a stellar victory at this round last year in the KMS Toyota Genuine Parts/Cool/Maxwill, after an exhilarating A-Main.  Tatnell last visited the “Borderline Bullring” earlier this year at The Kings Sprintcar Challenge, where he finished third.

The first Victorian event for World Series Sprintcars will be Round 4 of Speedweek at Avalon Raceway, Lara, on Sunday 30 December 2007.  Difficult track conditions at last year’s Speed Week round saw the KMS Toyota Genuine Parts/Cool/Maxwill finish fifth.  Tatnell will be looking for success at this round, after his last visit to Avalon Raceway earlier this year at the President’s Cup saw him unable to finish.

As is tradition, the final Speedweek round will be held at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway on Tuesday 1 January 2008.  KMS rounded out last year’s Speedweek finishing second at the Warrnambool round, whilst Tatnell’s last race there was the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic earlier this year, where he won the World Challenge on the first night, and finished second in the Classic A-Main on night two.

The current series points leaders will be looking to cement their place on top of the standings following a successful Speed Week campaign, leaving only two final rounds in Brisbane in their bid to take out the 2007/2008 Wanless World Series Sprintcars Championship.

From everyone at Krikke MotorSport, we wish to say thanks to all our supporters and wish you all a very merry festive season and a fantastic 2008!  Drive safe and we hope to see you all at a race venue very soon.
