Krikke Motorsport maintain WWSS points lead after Sydney!
Last Saturday night at Parramatta Raceway in Sydney, Krikke Motorsport team driver Brooke Tatnell was optimistic about the team’s chances in Rd 6 of the Wanless World Series Sprintcars.
After a day of constant rain in Sydney, the KMS team was feeling pretty good about the night ahead until they drew a late pill for the time trials. With the rain as it was, it wasn’t long before the track blew off and teams that were up at the end of the time trial session were left having to deal with a slick & dusty surface. This change in the track condition had the KMS Toyota Genuine Parts/Cool/Maxwill finishing in 31st position after time trials.

The team realizing they were in a position where they had to be strong and salvage points for the round had good heat draws & finishes:
Heat 3 start 3rd, finish 1st Heat 8 start 4th finish 2nd, giving the team a B Main start out of 9th and finishing 3rd.
This allowed the KMS Toyota Genuine Parts/Cool/Maxwill a 15th starting position in the A main. And with 14 very strong competitors in front of him, Brooke Tatnell drove a strong race and brought his machine home in 10th position.
Considering where they were after time trials the Krikke Motorsport team were very happy with the result and look forward to getting down to the ‘Apple Isle’ of Tasmania for their next two weekends action of WWSS.

Shane Krikke, on the team’s weekend in Sydney. “It’s wasn’t what we were hoping for but we will take any race meeting that sees us leading the series at the end of the show. The track caught us out a little and we were also still dealing with some minor mechanical problems from Brisbane. We do have those all sorted now. The boys have been working hard to get to the bottom of the problem and I feel we have put the worst behind us, and we’re looking forward to getting on down to Tassie. This is one of the best trips of the tour”
The KMS truck arrives in Melbourne today on the boat for Tasmania and the crew of Pete Caporn & Shane Finch are getting in some much needed R&R before this weekends racing.
Krikke Motorsport merchandise is now available on-line or direct from the team transporter at each venue.
