lodged from the cane toads.
Apparently the rules for Backgammon have
changed?
Once again David Mills and the Premier
Speedway have put on a show for the Classic.
The fan appreciation day was well
attended allowing everyone to get up close with the drivers
especially the kids big and small.
Well the boys called into the Flying
Horse Bar again this year for a couple of hairy goats which
before heading to the track were we caught up with big Andy who
has shed about 30kgs and is looking great along with his old man
and Brad as we settled in for the night racing.
If you have not been to the Classic its
well worth the trip, send me an email and I would be more than
happy to let you in on what goes on in Warnambool for the
Classic weekend and hopefully you will have a great time like
the Canetoad. (greg@bbbuildingsupplies.com.au)

Your Blog: Well the 2012 classic has
been run and won and a big congrats to Ian Loudon and his team.
What a trip for the Canetoads in 2012,
notable performances this year go to the tour manager with a
best on ground performance although drinking a warm bottle of
coopers that slipped from his grasp was the saving grace, sorry
Deamon for the salty shower.
Mork and mindy again performed well
although the pink loufa, shower cap and rose bouquet powder is a
bit of a worry.
It was great to catch up with BT, Jodie
and Shane who once again made us feel very welcome. A big
thankyou to all the KMS team from the canetoads.
notable absentees included Skid who's
eldest son started high school or was he wearing the uniform and
the wombat who was working on some model trains in Gladtsone.
The big fellas were sadly missed however a couple of others
stepped up to the plate.
We all look forward to the 2013 tour
with Quinny making his debut, will this be another wazza, we
will have to wait and see. |

Your Blog: What a great weekend the Krikke Boys Shootout event
was. I tell ya , THIS is what a speedway event should be. You
people over East miss out on something special here. Promoters
should take a look at it and it may just lift speedways profile
too. Brooke was on song all weekend. His drive in the feature
was brilliant. He was closing on Madsen so fast over the last
few laps, I reckon 2 more would have had him up front. Still, it
aren't easy! 35 laps in 9 minutes! Best thing about the
weekend? Seeing Ron, John and Shane cut up the Bunbury bullring
again. I tell ya, these boys could get into these machines right
NOW and they would be taking home winners Cheques! Shane just
has to slow down a tad so that he doesn't keep ripping teeth off
gears! What was that you said about fitting into Brookes seat
Shane? Naked, butter and a shoehorn?
Careful, you may get pinged for being under-weight at scales! A
racesuit will also stop you sticking to the seat. Congrats to
Brooke and ALL at KMS. We had a great weekend and as usual Shane
and Jodie made us feel great! Take care peoples! |

Greg for the complete wrap on this years tour.
Mate it would not be possible without your tireless campaigning
and booking of all the things we get up to on the "Big W" tour.
So I would just like on behalf of the other morons who can not
type or switch on their computers thank you for you dedication
and fantastic efforts behind the scenes. Great job mate. Cannot
thank you enough.
But on the down side that spoons game really does stink mate!
Not quite as bad as "Shady Shandy" but bloody close.
Also even though mentioned earlier thank you to all of the KMS
team, you people are just fantastic.
Look forward to doing it all over again next year even though
most of you Canetoad boys are absolute ratbags. In saying that

Your Blog: Soft tyre or not, Brooke was on a mission in the
final of the Australian Sprintcar Title, maybe some ants in his
pants I don't know but he had the KMS machine on rails. The
first half a dozen laps Brooke was in a different race than the
rest of the field as he took the lead and controlled
the race thru lapped traffic until a yellow flag had us all on
the edge of our seats until the Chequered flag dropped and he
won is 4th Australian Title & KMS 6th.
Monday morning the CST crew was up early to hit the road for
Melbourne airport and home to our families & kids. Wombat did it
the hard way spending the best part of 24 hours on the road to
get home to Gladstone Qld with only a couple of hours sleep and
then he was back on the tools.
Our 16th Speedway tour has come to an end for another year
however this year we made some great friends in the KMS crew and
were re-united with some old friends along the way.
For me personally this was one of the best trips I have had,
there is nothing like having a beer and a few laughs with your
mates and some of the best blokes in the world while taking the
piss out of them at the same time. We will be back again for the
2011/12 speedway season, so if you see us at the track come and
say hello.
The Crew:
Skid Mark: someone has to stir the wombat, well done. - Toe
Knee: Thanks for making up the tour posters again this year. -
Wombat: the tour would not be the same without you mate. -
Deamon: we know who to blame when something goes wrong. - Big
Al: our designated driver, thanks from all the drunks. - Rookie:
Someone has to kick goals from 70m with a little coopers for
assistance.

Your Blog: Thursday night was the Australian Sprintcar Calcutta
held at the City Memorial Bowls Club and we had a blast, not
only did the crew walk away with $400 cash, we got the chance to
catch up with Shane and his daughter for a few laughs.
Skid Mark decided that Jamie Maiolo was worth a few of his hard
earned dollars however this was not his best call, the big fella
started getting all twitchy in his seat as soon as the bids
started to come in.
A visit to the drive thru on the way home was of course on the
agenda as we had a few extra dollars to top up the esky and
prepare for a game of spoons. If you have not played spoons it's
a pretty basic card game where the last person to grab a spoon
is out, pretty basic right, not according to the
wombat though so it was in to the TV room to watch the tennis
while the rest of us laughed while flying all over the table to
grab a spoon.
Night 1 of the Aussie Title ran as expected with all major
contenders ending the night in a good position ready for action
the following night and a chance to hold the trophy aloft.
After the nights racing the CST heading Into the pits of course
for a quick chat with the KMS crew.

The crew had a well deserved break after the classic with the
annual game of AFL with the boys kicking goals from 70 of course
and the BBQ on in the background. The only rain we had all week
was on Tuesday which is pretty standard for this time of year.
I am not sure if it was the Demon factor or not but we spent
more time in the Telstra shop fixing mobile phones over these
couple of days than we would have liked or was it that the crew
was chatting up the Telstra staff, I am not so sure but with the
phones fixed it was back to business and over to the Warrnambool
Hotel for a cold beverage and wouldn't you know it we bumped
into Wade Aunger.
Wade was kind enough to give us his time and chat about the
Classic weekend and results before he had lunch with friends,
its always nice talk with someone who is so passionate about our
sport. and a true gentleman
Detective Senior Sergeant Hafer Crompton was called upon to
locate one of our Cantoad Sprintcar Tour magnet which
mysteriously went missing from the side of our mini bus so if
anyone spots our logo they are imposters probably the
cockroaches from across the border. Now we do have a reward for
the safe return of the CST magnet, a six pack of Classic Ale is
up for grabs however it may take some time to brew this local
delicacy as the local the brewer isi n Scotland, maybe doing
some research.
The Prelude to the Championship was run and won as you would all
be aware and a big congratulations to David Mills and all the
Premier Speedway Staff & Volunteers for putting on a great show
with a different format and an early finish, something that is
almost unheard of at Classic time, well done!
There are some photos on the website so check them out, taken
after the race with the KMS team and the CST crew in our KMS
gear.

The Canetoad Sprintcar Tour Crew started the day with Jason
Meyers, BT and a couple of other drivers, teams & crews for the
Classic Breakfast / Brunch at The Flying Horse Bar & Brewery.
Jason was the highlight of the function especially talking about
what it takes to run a world of outlaws sprintcar team
especially from a financial perspective. (BT tried hard to
convince Jason that he needs a second car as he knew of the
perfect driver to sit in the seat - The Phantom).
The Classic Brunch is growing every year and David Mills and the
team need to be once again congratulated on their efforts in
promoting the sport we love. Come along next year and join us
for breakfast.
After bacon & eggs it was down to the Bar for a couple of cold
Whale Ale's on tap however the tap was dry so Billy Goat was the
order of the day including a beer shower for the wombat courtesy
of the staff! Classic stubbies was next on the agenda for a
sample and souvenier however they had run out of stock and
apparently the brewer had made a quick exit to Scotland so the
chance of getting some later in the week did not look good.
Leading the Classic final has not always been very kind to
Brooke & the KMS team and this would be the case again in 2011
with Brooke leading by the length of the straight the yellows
came out and we all know the result from there. Congratulations
to Steven Lines the 2011 Classic Champ. |

Your Blog: Well the CST kicked off its 2011 Victorian Tour on
21st January.
Day 1
Crew members travelled from all over Qld and Sydney on Friday
night to meet up on the Gold Coast for a Crown Lager or 2 to
kick start this years trip. We were all very lucky to make the
trip this year with the extensive flooding across Qld blocking
major roads and causing devasting damage to property etc.
Day 2
After a quick 2 hours sleep it was off to the airport for the
trip to Melbourne where we picked up our vehicle with of course
the extra 18% location tax to pay which was included but not
included if you know what I
mean.
After a quick stop at BCF for some rope to strap the speedway
chairs to the roof, Dan Murphy's was next to stock up on a
couple of cold ones for the road trip, watch out for pink hippos
along the Princess Hwy (see photo).
We have it on good authority that The Panmure Hotel is the place
to get lunch however the Hwy was cut due to flooding so it was
off to Premier Speedway instead for donuts and to put our chairs
in place on the fence at the start of turn 4. For those who have
not sat on the fence you should try it however safety goggles
are a must. (Well done to Jodie Krikke for joining us on the
fence during the Aussie Title and the above photo was later
printed in Standard Newspaper).
A big tanks to Tex on the gate at Premier Speedway for looking
after us again this year and taking some photos and say hello to
Tex the next time you are at Premier Speedway as he is a top
bloke.
A quick change at the house and into our KMS shirts and we were
back at the track catching up with old friends including Andy
and his family. The vibe in the car park is great, standing
around sharing past experiences and trying to guess who will win
Night 1 of the Classic while of course having a sherbet or 2 to
rehydrate as the weather at Warrnambool this year was truly
amazing.
Night 1 of the Classic as you have probably already read was a
night of great racing on a superb track with the odd crash or 2
between turns 3 & 4 to keep Shandy (1 of our crew) puckered up
all night and wake the Wombat up from his tradional nanna
nap's....
after cleaning the dust out of everything we hit the sack with
Kelly our tour mascot.
Day 3 of the trip & Classic Final report to follow.

For those of you who have not been to Warnambool, it is a must
speedway trip & we would encourage you to stop talking about it
and come and join the rest of us who have found out what a great
place it is to be at Classic time.
Look forward to seeing you between turns 3&4 on the fence at
