BROOKE TATNELL

Resides:  San Souci, NSW, AUSTRALIA - Forest Lake, Minnesota, USA

Wife: Amy

Children: Emma (4) Garrett (Newborn)

Born: September 28, 1970

Brooke Tatnell joined the Krikke MotorSport team in season 2004/2005 when Tatnell was finding it more and more difficult to keep racing in Australia when he predominantly was running his own deal by himself and was struggling to find sponsorship. Not only was he the driver of Tatnell Racing at the time, but he was also his own crew chief, media liaison, and everything in between.

Krikke MotorSport had just come off of a season with West Australian Mark Wells and they were looking at appointing a new driver; someone whom they thought would fit in easily with the team, have great racing ability, highly motivated and of course an Aussie to tie in with an All Australian theme along with their Aussie Chassis, Motor and sponsor program.

Son of former Australian Sprintcar and Speedcar legend, the late George Tatnell, Brooke is the epitome of a professional Sprintcar driver and was a prime candidate amongst the list of drivers being tossed around by team boss Shane Krikke and crew chief Peter Caporn. So when he was offered the position Tatnell accepted with little hesitation and has been a valued member of the team since.

Widely regarded as the best Australian to race full-time in America, he won his first World of Outlaws round at the Jetmore Motorplex in August 2003. He went on to win two more rounds at Cedar Lake Speedway and Fulton Speedway, and a preliminary night at Princeton Speedway in the 2005 World of Outlaws Championship, making him the only non-American to have ever won a World of Outlaws round. Coupled with his race wins in the 2005 Championship, he set quick time four times and set a new lap record at Kokomo Speedway.

One of the most successful Australian Sprintcar Drivers in history, Brooke has won eight World Series Sprintcars Championships, including four with the KMS team in just 5 years and having been the point’s leader after every single round of WSS over the past 3 years. A feat that may never be repeated and something that the team is extremely proud of!

Brookes dream of becoming Australian Sprintcar Champion came true in February 2005, after winning an enthralling A-Main at Murray Bridge Speedway in South Australia with his own team and then went on to score a hat-trick of wins by winning the following two Aussie Titles with KMS.

Brooke is arguably the most passionate and dedicated driver in the country, and combine that with Krikke MotorSport and what you end up with is a team that is exciting to watch and hard to beat.

Very down-to-earth and approachable, and with a great sense of humour, Tatnell , along with the KMS team, always make themselves available to meet fans, sign autographs and have a chat.

Brooke Tatnell is most certainly a great ambassador for Sprintcar Racing, and a true champion and a great asset to the Krikke MotorSport team.

JASON SIDES

Resides:   Bartlett, TN

Wife:   Farrah

Children:   Skylar (6)

Born:   February 10, 1973

Jason joined the KMS team as their ‘Super-Sub’ for their shakedown run at Sydney Speedway and the opening four rounds of World Series Sprintcars when it became apparent that Tatnell would be unable to come out to Australia until Boxing Day because of family commitments.

Sides was their obvious choice as the driver replacement having been a multiple World of Outlaws feature race winner, a Kings Royal winner and with KMS crewman Shane Finch having travelled with Sides in the United States for the past 6 years, the team thought it was an opportunity not to be missed.

It was in 1993 that Jason turned his focus to Sprintcars, (having previously been involved in BMX and Motocross since the age of six). In that same year he finished the point season in second place and was also named ‘Rookie of the Year’.  In 2001, Jason and Sides Motorsports made the decision to go national with the World of Outlaws ‘Gumout’ division and during his first season, won the feature event at Tulsa Speedway.  After an impressive run at Knoxville Nationals, Jason was named the ‘Nationals Rookie of the Year’ and went on to finish second in points in the ‘Gumout’ division and claim ‘Rookie of the Year’ honours for the series.   Jason also won the Short Track Nationals at Little Rock and was named "410 Rookie of the Year" by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

In 2003, Jason was named the World of Outlaws ‘Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year’ and then recorded his first World of Outlaws victory in 2004 at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.  It was the prestigious ‘Kings Royal’, with a $50,000 payoff.  More significantly, it gave Jason a place in the record books and it was the final year for legendary promoter, Earl Baltes, to crown the King.

These are just a few of the great results that Jason Sides & Sides Motorsport has achieved along the way.

After the completion of the 2010 World of Outlaws Series Sides finished a very respectable fifth place  and was anxious to get started with his Australian campaign and keeping the points fund ticking along for the Krikke MotorSport team for World Series 2010/2011.

Krikke MotorSport is excited to get their racing season underway and they are looking forward to sharing the experience with both Brooke Tatnell AND Jason Sides.
