Last night, (Friday January 15th) it was back to the Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway for night one of round 12 of the prestigious World Series Sprintcars tournament and Brooke Tatnell with another superb drive picked up a solid fourth in the preliminary A Main.

The track condition were certainly testing for the drivers but as usual Brooke and the Toyota Genuine Parts team were giving it their best shot and with another star studded fifty plus sprintcar field it could have been a night of the survival of the fittest.

Brooke with a 12.994 lap time was seventh fastest in qualifying before posting a seventh and a eleventh in his two heat races. While the track had caught a number of drivers out and the conditions could have made things difficult in the 20 lap preliminary A Main Brooke in the #2 Cool sprintcar were very impressive after starting from position 10. Using a set up that Brooke used way back in his early Parramatta career days, the Toyota Genuine Parts machine forged forward powering up into fourth position by mid race. After a restart Brooke looked like he could have blasted into third and a podium finish but he had to settle for a still brilliant fourth.

“It was back to the 1990’s with the set up we used on the car! I didn’t think I’ve seen this place that rough but everyone was in the same race track. We got the car around pretty good, starting 10th came home in fourth it was another points night. I’m sick of saying it’s another points night, I want more wins on the board but all toll it was a good night. Tomorrow is the money night. You don’t was to give Farr or any of those guys a head start so the night’s heats are going to be very interesting!”

That was night one and with the money on tonight’s shoot out the guys are in a good position as they tackle the WSS Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway round.
