Brooke Tatnell & the Krikke Motorsport team successfully defended their presidents cup crown for a third consecutive time at Avalon Raceway near Geelong Victoria last night.

The track was racy from the get go & starting the main event from pole was surely the place to be, a huge crowd was on hand to witness what is fast becoming one of the sprintcar calendars top events leading into the kings & classic weekend.

Tatnell highlighted the fact to Avalon Raceway PR man Gavin White "that the pressure for points was off tonight and the different approach to ‘one off races’ as opposed to championship points collected on World Series Sprintcars, We came out here, tried a few things and had some fun. This track is a track that we like, it suits my driving style and we got the job done tonight by man handling the car. There’s nothing better than Sprintcar racing, and we can prove races like tonight are a spectacle compared to any form of sport.”

To sum it up the team was pumped, the boys headed straight for the car wash to get things done & prepared for this weekend,s favorite event the Warnambool Classic, then onto WSS on Australia day also at Premier Speedway. Speaking with team owner Shane Krikke straight after the race at the car wash, this is what he had to say.

"Sure is good to start the week off with a win and since the only race I had been to all year we struggled to a 14th place finish I was under a bit of pressure! If we had have been no good I may have got the sack!! It is a fantastic race and always has a big crowd and we enjoy coming to Avalon. We as a team have had a lot of success with various drivers here over the years but to win out 3rd President's Cup is very special win and gives us good confidence and frame of mind going into the Classic this weekend at Warrnambool."
