Krikke Motorsport Aim For A Passing Score Of 4 Out Of 5
KMS PR - BCM posted Friday February 5, 2010.
This weekend at the Perth Motorplex Brooke Tatnell & Krikke Motorsport will be aiming for their 3rd consecutive WSS crown & a milestone of 4 from the last 5 years.
Going into this weekend’s grand final at the Motorplex with only a 38 point lead doesn't mean it is time for celebrating yet, there is a lot of hard work to do & tonight is just one more night of valuable points before we settle into tomorrow night’s grand final round of the 2010 series "team owner Shane Krikke Commented"
The team arrived back in Perth this week after a grueling 3 months on the road, they passed Kalgoorlie Speedway last Wednesday night for the second last round of WSS & faced some very tough track conditions.
Conditions were tough at Kalgoorlie Speedway, track conditions deteriorated very quickly to the point that lap times dropped by 3 seconds a lap from time trials to feature time. The KMS black Deuce Toyota Genuine/AJC/Maxwill enjoyed good early results at Kalgoorlie with time trials: 2nd 12.870 (125.87 km/h) Heat: 3rd. Heat: 6th. Pole Shootout: 3rd. A-Main: 4th.
KMS Crew chief Pete Caporn commented "It was a tough night, but to still come away with a top 5 was a good result, we are looking forward to getting home to top the truck up with spares, check all the gear & sleep in our own bed, going on the road is tough but I wouldn't have it any other way"
It is the first time the grand final has been staged in WA moving away from the traditional opening rounds, this weekend’s format is Friday Night preliminary final, Saturday night grand final round & then onto the black tie function & presentation on Sunday Night at Burswood.
Team Owner Shane Krikke was very optimistic about Krikke Motorsport getting their 3rd consecutive WSS crown but at the same time was relishing the challenge ahead for the team. "We now move to the business end of the season, WSS Grand Final, King of the wings & Krikke Boys Shootout, I'm a realist and I know it is tough but we are aiming for all 3 victories, something we haven't yet achieved as a team"
For West Australian fans to be able to see Brooke Tatnell race past the WSS rounds will be a bonus, Brooke usually has to attend to business back home in the USA getting ready for his tough season, this year he has made the commitment to race in the King of the Wings & Boys Race, two victories that have eluded him in the past.
And race fans, the all-new Krikke MotorSport merchandise is now available online and will be available direct from the Team Transporter at each Speed Week event, so don’t forget to head down to the pits after the meeting to buy some great gear and perhaps get an autograph from Brooke while you’re there.
